A team of researchers from the University of Iowa, determined in a study that unhealthy changes to gut bacteria can trigger weight gain.In another similar study, researchers found sub-par sleep could undermine weight loss by as much as 55%. "Some strains of bacteria in the gut can actually help to lose weight by altering the way we metabolise food, impacting insulin resistance, promoting appetite reducing hormones,"says city-based dietician, Neha Chandna."

EAT DINNER EARLY
When eating small portions, do not stretch it to late night hours; space out between your eating and sleeping hours.
INCLUDE MEAT IN DIET
According to experts Tryptophan, an amino acid found in most meats,
has powerful sleep-inducing effects. Even consuming few ounces is enough
to increase hours of deep sleep in a person.
EAT PEPPER
Studies have shown that one of the most effective ways of burning fat
is to eat peppers.Including pepper in our meal triggers fat burning
process in a big way while we sleep.
HAVE PROTEIN SHAKE
Having protein before you hit the sack may increase your
metabolism.Researchers found that one who consumed an evening snack that
included 30 g of either whey or casein protein had a higher resting
metabolic rate the next morning than when eating nothing. Protein is
more thermogenic than carbs or fat, meaning your body burns more
calories digesting it.
MINT TO THE RESCUE
Mint is said to have the power to make you lose weight. Sniff mint
